About

AI² Robotics was founded in Shenzhen by Guo Yandong in April 2023, with a core team from Tsinghua, Peking University, Tesla, and Boston Dynamics. It self-develops the Alpha Brain embodied foundation model and the AlphaBot robot series: the AlphaBot 2 is a wheeled liftable humanoid design with 34+ DoF and ±0.02mm assembly accuracy, achieving 100-unit monthly delivery in December 2025. In April 2026 it released NeuroVLA, the world's first brain-inspired VLA model (a cortex-cerebellum-spinal cord three-layer architecture with a 20ms collision reflex), open-sourced in June. Commercially it has landed in panels/semiconductor display, automotive manufacturing, and semiconductor production lines, winning an HKC order of 1,000 units over 3 years worth nearly RMB 500M - recognized by Morgan Stanley as the largest single order for productivity robots globally. It completed 12 rounds within a year; after nearly RMB 5B of new financing in June 2026 its valuation exceeded RMB 20B, making it the first embodied AI company in the Greater Bay Area to break RMB 20B; annual capacity exceeds 2,000 units, and it has started building China's first tens-of-thousands-unit production line for productivity embodied humanoids.

Technical Approach

Adheres to an end-to-end closed-loop paradigm in which the three VLA elements (visual perception, language reasoning, action control) are inseparable, holding that the world model is an upgrade module of VLA and that integrating it (tight coupling) is the necessary path to a stronger VLA. NeuroVLA uses a cortex-cerebellum-spinal cord three-layer brain-inspired architecture, cutting motion jitter by over 75%, with a 20ms collision reflex and about 0.4W power consumption, letting robots learn and decide with less data; the brain-inspired architecture is seen as the next key variable.

Commercialization(5)

  • Panels/semiconductor display: an HKC order of 1,000 units over 3 years worth nearly RMB 500M, recognized by Morgan Stanley as the largest single order for productivity robots globally; PCB handling as the first demonstration scenario, also deployed in OLED vacuum lamination and other process steps
  • Automotive and semiconductor manufacturing: AlphaBots entered automotive manufacturing and semiconductor production lines, handling sorting, transfer, and other tasks
  • New retail 'Smart Cube' in normalized operation across 10+ cities; biotech/public service applications already exist (e.g., Shenzhen Qianhai Stone Park)
  • Built China's earliest semi-automated production line for normalized batch delivery of productivity robots, with annual capacity first exceeding 2,000 units; starting construction of China's first tens-of-thousands-unit production line for productivity embodied humanoids in H2 2026
  • Completed shareholding reform in Apr 2026 (an IPO signal), with IPO news circulating by August; Guo Yandong invited to speak at the 2026 Summer Davos (the only speaker from China's embodied humanoid robotics field)

Position & Strengths(6)

  • Greater Bay Area's first RMB 20B embodied unicorn: valuation above RMB 20B, among the most heavily capitalized embodied AI companies in the world
  • Original brain-inspired VLA technology: NeuroVLA is the world's first open-source brain-inspired VLA model, uniquely combining active perception, fault self-recovery, and temporal memory
  • Most Tesla-like: a team whose experience spans Silicon Valley algorithms and China's whole-machine manufacturing systems, recognized by investors as the Chinese team closest to Tesla's robot route
  • Financing capability: 12 rounds, nearly RMB 5B, and an RMB 20B valuation within one year, with full-chain investor coverage (state funds, industry leaders, brokerages, insurers, GBA local capital, Tesla ecosystem chain)
  • Mass production and landing: annual capacity of 2,000+ units; the HKC 1,000-unit RMB 500M order is the key value anchor
  • Model x hardware x scenario trinity: end-to-end VLA model + AlphaBot body + real-scenario landing
