About

Dexcelbot was registered and founded in Shenzhen in November 2024 by Yang Sicheng (among the earliest core members of Tencent's Robotics X lab) and Li Wangwei (former head of tactile perception systems at Tencent Robotics X, PhD from the National University of Singapore), focusing on the R&D and manufacturing of core robot components: high-performance dexterous hands, tactile sensors, and dexterous manipulation algorithms. The flagship Apex Hand five-finger dexterous hand was released in August 2025 - ultra-dexterous, highly dynamic, high-payload, and fully sensing, able to turn screws and sew clothes, hailed by the industry as a 'hexagonal warrior'. Its technical route is all-round balance pragmatism, focusing on six dimensions: dexterity, response speed, payload capacity, robustness, tactile sensing, and control precision, and it stands at the world's top level in tendon and hybrid actuation (as assessed by Primavera Capital and Nanshan Strategic Emerging Investment). It completed 5 rounds of funding within a year (hundreds of millions RMB cumulatively), backed by Shenzhen Capital Group, Fortune Capital, and Primavera Capital with Shenzhen state capital participating; first product deliveries began in H1 2026, entering volume delivery of dexterous hands.

Technical Approach

An 'all-round balance' pragmatist route: refuses blind pursuit of extremes in any single metric, focusing on the six dimensions of dexterity, response speed, payload capacity, robustness, tactile sensing, and control precision. The view that tactile perception is core to embodied AI data infrastructure - only when the dexterous hand can truly sense objects do the collected tactile and force-control data have training value. Its tendon-hybrid transmission is at the world's top level, aiming to build high-DoF dexterous hands with performance-reliability-cost as the core advantage.

Commercialization(4)

  • First product deliveries began in H1 2026 (revealed by founder Yang Sicheng; source: Chuangyebang/Sina Finance, Apr 2026)
  • Dexterous hand products have entered the production and delivery stage, repositioned from research equipment to reliable productivity tools
  • 2026 is seen by the industry as the 'delivery year' for dexterous hands; the company targets a scenario-data-cost closed loop
  • Provides core component support for smart manufacturing, medical applications, service robots, and other fields

Position & Strengths(5)

  • Top-tier team background: Tencent Robotics X core members with 10+ years of accumulated expertise and dual academic-industrial DNA
  • Dual-drive strategy: dexterous hands plus tactile sensors, mastering core components and data infrastructure capability
  • Full-stack R&D capability: among the very few in China with 0-to-1 full-stack in-house development of dexterous hand + tactile sensors + dexterous manipulation algorithms
  • Rapid fundraising capability: 5 rounds in a year, with top institutions continuously adding and Shenzhen state capital backing
  • Accelerating volume delivery: speeding up Apex Hand capacity expansion and batch delivery after the Pre-A
