About
Galaxea AI was founded in September 2023 by Gao Jiyang (CEO, ex-Waymo/Momenta), Xu Huazhe (CTO, assistant professor at Tsinghua's Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences), Zhao Hang (COO), and Li Tianwei (CPO); all four core founders are Tsinghua-linked, and the founding team started out in Suzhou in 2023. Its core R1 series wheeled dual-arm robots (R1 Pro priced from RMB 320,000) took No.1 global market share in 2025, serving 150+ research institutes and major companies (Huawei, BYD, etc.) and adopted by Stanford's Fei-Fei Li team, Physical Intelligence, and other international institutions; its self-developed EFM-1 embodied foundation model (based on the DP3 algorithm) achieves 85% success from 40 demonstrations.
