About
Astribot was founded in Shenzhen in December 2022. Founder Lai Jie was employee No.1 and an architect at Tencent Robotics X, and the company is known in the industry as China's Figure. It pioneered the DFAI (Design for AI) integrated software-hardware system architecture, building a fully in-house stack of AI models, embodied OS, and tendon-driven bodies. Its tendon-drive (muscle-like actuation) route delivers the lightest self-weight, the highest payload ratio, and supremely compliant control, and it is the world's first and only company to mass-produce tendon-driven AI robots. The flagship S1 has gone through three iterations; in May 2026 it released the mass-market consumer robot T1 (priced from RMB 89,900, able to grill steak, handle laundry and storage, run chemistry experiments, and sort auto parts), shipping from June 1. It began 1,000-unit-scale delivery at end-2025, with 1,000-unit-scale orders in hand from SEER Robotics, Thundersoft, Boden Intelligence, and others. In June 2026 its Series B rounds totaled over RMB 1B across three tranches in three months, pushing its valuation above RMB 10B; in July it completed a shareholding reform and renaming, opened its Wuxi global manufacturing and supply chain center (built in 60 days) raising capacity to the 10,000-unit level, and is now sprinting toward listing.
Technical Approach
DFAI (Design for AI) architecture: first define robot bodies that fit how AI foundation models learn and evolve, then match AI algorithms and an operating system around the body; a trinity of AI models, embodied OS, and tendon-driven body, fully in-house. The tendon route offers the lightest self-weight, the highest payload ratio, and supremely compliant control, with modular design (arms, torso, and legs independently replaceable and repairable); its in-house foundation model Lumo and the DuoCore fast-slow system framework, plus RUI-layer teleoperation (1-second grasping, interns productive within 10 minutes), enable low-cost, high-quality data collection.
Commercialization(7)
- Volume delivery: tendon-driven bodies began 1,000-unit-scale delivery at end-2025, and the S1 reached 1,000-unit-scale mass delivery in June 2026 (source: 36Kr, official)
- Reached a 1,000-unit-scale order with SEER Robotics (Oct 2025)
- Signed 1,000-unit-scale industrial and commercial service orders with Thundersoft and is advancing joint global expansion (source: 36Kr)
- On Jun 10, 2026, signed 1,000-unit-scale orders and a strategic partnership with Boden Intelligence to jointly build a 'real-world data engine' (a distributed embodied AI data collection network with millions of hours of annual data capacity)
- 1,000-unit-scale orders in retail, cultural tourism, and research scenarios respectively (source: 21Finance, Jun 2026); the S1 is deployed at scale in autonomous vending scenarios in 6 cities nationwide, including Palace Museum cultural-creative retail
- Partnering with the Jiangdu Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu to build the 'Yangzhou Embodied AI Application Innovation Center' (RMB 100M+ scale, focused on cultural tourism and hotel scenarios) (signed Dec 2025)
- The Wuxi global manufacturing and supply chain center went into production on Jul 9, 2026 (built in 60 days); the first T1 rolled off the line and capacity was raised to the 10,000-unit level; completed shareholding reform and renaming on Jul 7, 2026, sprinting toward listing
Position & Strengths(6)
- Technical uniqueness: the world's first and only mass-produced tendon-driven AI robot, with an industry-leading DFAI architecture
- Full-stack in-house: AI models (Lumo/DuoCore) - embodied OS - tendon-driven body, a closed loop across three layers
- Commercialization lead: began 1,000-unit-scale delivery at end-2025, with multiple 1,000-unit-scale orders in hand (SEER Robotics, Thundersoft, Boden Intelligence)
- Production and going global: the Wuxi 10,000-unit-level manufacturing center in production, advancing global expansion with Thundersoft and others
- Capital recognition: Tencent, Alibaba, ByteDance-affiliated capital, and multiple industrial investors; valuation above RMB 10B within 3 years of founding
- Affordable pricing: the T1 from RMB 89,900, first to open up the consumer embodied AI market
