About
D-Robotics was founded by Wang Cong in January 2024, headquartered in Shenzhen; it was formerly Horizon Robotics' AIoT and robotics business unit, spun off and independently operated under full ownership by D-Robotics Holding. It positions itself as a 'general software-hardware foundation provider for robots' — building no robot bodies and entering from upstream, providing robot makers with intelligent compute chips and a software-hardware coordinated, device-cloud integrated full-chain development platform — called the 'water seller' of embodied AI, aiming to be the 'Wintel of the robot era'. Two product lines: RisingSun-series intelligent compute chips (5-560 TOPS) and RDK robot developer kits (X3/X5/Ultra/S100/S100P/S600), covering the full chain from entry-level development to volume delivery. Funding: a $100M Series A in May 2025 (Hillhouse Ventures, 5Y Capital, etc.), a $120M Series B1 in March 2026 (DiDi, Meituan Dragonball, etc.), and a $150M Series B2 in April 2026 (Prosperity7, etc.), totaling over $370M. The flagship compute platform RisingSun S600 (560 TOPS, integrated 'big brain + cerebellum') was released for production in Q1 2026; in July, ahead of WAIC, it announced the start of production validation, with cooperation from 20+ leading customers including UBTech, Galaxea AI, X Square Robot, 它石智航, 帕西尼 and the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center.
Technical Approach
Centers on the in-house BPU architecture (inherited from Horizon's years of production validation), adhering to a layered 'big brain + cerebellum' route: the brain handles cognitive decision-making while the cerebellum handles motion control; the S600 delivers integrated on-device compute with an 18-core A78AE CPU + 560 TOPS BPU. Paired with software-hardware coordinated toolchains such as RDK OS, NodeHub and RDK Studio, and cooperation with open-source ecosystems like ROS, LeRobot and Ultralytics YOLO, it builds a Wintel-style 'chip + developer kit + developer ecosystem' moat. CEO Wang Cong judges that humanoids will see their 'smart-driving moment' around 2030, and for now the company sticks to being the 'greatest common denominator' of robot deployment.
