About

DeepRoute.ai was founded in Shenzhen in February 2019 by Zhou Guang; the core team came over from RoadStar en bloc. It is one of China's three production city-NOA ADAS suppliers (the other two being Huawei and Momenta). It has stuck with end-to-end large models and mapless solutions, hitting industry inflection points repeatedly — from early fusion and no HD maps to end-to-end, VLA and foundation models. By April 2026 it had delivered nearly 300,000 city-NOA production vehicles cumulatively, with customers including Great Wall Motor, smart, Leapmotor, Dongfeng and Caocao Mobility; it reached an L3 partnership with a leading international OEM in January 2026 and targets 1 million vehicles delivered by year-end. CEO Zhou Guang proposed the RoadAGI mobility-generalist strategy and the 40B foundation model, repositioning the company around Physical AI. Valuation topped $1B after its 2021 Series B; it confidentially filed with HKEX in December 2025 and aims to list within 2026.

Technical Approach

End-to-end large-model architecture with a unified perception-to-decision network loop; began the mapless approach in 2020, independent of HD maps and usable on all roads nationwide. Its judgment on technology evolution has repeatedly hit the mark: early fusion → no HD maps → end-to-end → VLA → foundation models. It actively downplays the 'autonomous driving company' label, repositioning toward Physical AI, and has built a delivery-robot demo (public roads / campuses / entering office towers to find elevators).

Commercialization(5)

  • Production data: nearly 300,000 city-NOA production vehicles delivered cumulatively (Apr 2026); over 1.3 billion km driven cumulatively; over 44.8 million hours of user usage
  • Safety data: 141,000 potential forward collisions and 47,000 potential rear collisions avoided
  • 2026 targets: city-NOA production deliveries to break 1 million vehicles; MPCI raised to over 1,000 km; high-frequency usage rate raised to over 50%
  • Core customers: Great Wall Motor (core customer and Series C1 investor; the Wey Blue Mountain carries the VLA model), smart (Elf #5), Leapmotor, Dongfeng, Caocao Mobility; L3 partnership with a leading international OEM in Jan 2026
  • Commercialization path: full-stack L4 R&D → mapless city-NOA production → scaled end-to-end Robotaxi operations → RoadAGI mobility generalist

Position & Strengths(6)

  • One of China's three production city-NOA ADAS suppliers (the other two: Huawei and Momenta)
  • Leading technology judgment: early fusion → no HD maps → end-to-end → VLA → foundation model, repeatedly ahead of the curve
  • Foundation-model paradigm shift: 40B foundation model plus AI Orchestrator (12-hour data loop), with system cognitive ability continuously evolving
  • Mobility-generalist concept: a generalist with mobility first, then a stronger AD system; must go toward AI rather than blindly chasing scale
  • Production data flywheel: real-road data from nearly 300,000 production vehicles continuously flows back to train the foundation model
  • Main risks: uncertain H1 2026 IPO timing; founding veteran Liu Nianqiu leaving to start a business; Tesla FSD entering China intensifying competition; embodied intelligence heat diverting capital-market attention
