About
Fourier Intelligence was founded in Shanghai Zhangjiang in July 2015 by Gu Jie. Starting from rehabilitation robots, it transformed into general-purpose humanoids in 2023, forming dual rehab-plus-humanoid engines. Its rehab business covers 40+ countries and 2,000+ medical institutions with CE, FDA and other medical qualifications; the GR-1 humanoid has delivered over 100 units, the GR-3 is positioned as a touchable-interaction CARE-BOT (the first full-size humanoid centered on touchable interaction), and 2026 added the GRW wheeled dual-arm robot and the GR Nano desktop companion. It self-develops FSA integrated actuators and the FDH-6 dexterous hand, with 10 years of force-feedback expertise. In early 2025 it closed a near RMB 800M Series E (led by Shanghai state capital); Runyang Technology's RMB 300M strategic round valued it at about RMB 8B pre-money; it has completed shareholding reform to prepare for IPO. In June 2026 it won Malaysia's PERKESO national-level rehabilitation project.
Technical Approach
Rooted in rehabilitation, focused on interaction, serving people — rehabilitation feeds the humanoid business: rehabilitation robots are already monetized and provide stable cash flow while humanoids iterate quickly. The GR-3 features a full-sensing interaction system (auditory/visual/tactile plus an attention-management mechanism), proactive human-robot interaction and fast-plus-slow-thinking dual-path response, taking a warm CARE-BOT differentiated route; in 2026 it proposed that proactive interaction is the key to the scaled landing of embodied intelligence, advancing the 1+3+X ecosystem strategy.
Commercialization(4)
- Global footprint: covers 40+ countries and regions, serving 2,000+ medical institutions (including 300+ domestic rehab departments / Smart Rehabilitation Hubs); 40+ products across the full rehab line
- International qualifications and overseas presence: CE, FDA and other certifications; Singapore and Malaysia offices; partnerships with universities in Melbourne, Zurich and Chicago; co-developed the ROS 3.0 interaction protocol with ETH Zurich and integrated Amazon Alexa
- Go-global milestone: on Jun 17, 2026 won Malaysia's national-level PERKESO rehabilitation project (social security agency rehab center), a ten-million-RMB-class order covering Smart Rehabilitation Hubs, the Galileo system and GRx-series clinical validation
- 1+3+X ecosystem strategy: 1 strategic self-operated scenario (rehab and companionship) + 3 co-built ecosystem scenarios (guided interaction, industrial empowerment, research innovation) + X incubation projects
Position & Strengths(6)
- Force-feedback technology moat: 10 years of accumulation (from rehabilitation robots); force-feedback algorithms and biomechanics data transfer directly to humanoid manipulation capability
- Rehab-feeds-humanoid path: rehabilitation robots are monetized and provide stable cash flow while humanoids iterate quickly — dual engines
- Medical qualification moat: medical device licenses in rehabilitation (CE, FDA, etc.)
- Warm, safe, emotional interaction design philosophy: unlike purely functionalist humanoids, the GR-3 takes a warm CARE-BOT differentiated route
- Fully in-house hardware: self-developed FSA integrated actuators (7 models, maximum peak torque over 380 N·m), the FDH-6 bionic dexterous hand, and low-cost thousand-RMB-class six-axis force sensors
- Brain-computer interface positioning: bringing BCI into the clinical side of Smart Rehabilitation Hubs in 2026 to build next-stage differentiation
