About
Galbot was founded in Beijing in May 2023; founder Wang He is an assistant professor at Peking University's Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies and a Stanford PhD (under triple-academician Leonidas J. Guibas), and co-founder Yao Tengzhou comes from Beihang University's Robotics Research Institute and formerly worked at ABB's robotics R&D center. The company is a representative Sim2Real vendor achieving generalization with 99% simulation data + 1% real-robot data, building the end-to-end model 'AstraBrain' and a 10-billion-scale simulation dataset; GraspVLA achieves a 95% success rate on transparent-object grasping. Products include the wheeled dual-arm humanoid Galbot G1, the industrial heavy-payload Galbot S1 (50 kg max dual-arm payload, deployed on CATL's battery plant production line), the unattended retail terminal 'Galaxy Space Capsule' and smart pharmacies. Commercially it cooperates deeply with CATL, Bosch, Toyota, BAIC, SAIC and others, with thousands of cumulative orders and over 1,200 units shipped in 2025; the Space Capsule convenience stores have landed in 40+ cities at 170+ locations, and it received China's first drug business license for a humanoid robot. Cumulative funding is about RMB 8B: a RMB 2.5B Series D in March 2026 led by National Big Fund Phase III (~RMB 21B post-money), plus over RMB 1B led by CATL in August, and it leads the Beijing Key Laboratory of Embodied Intelligence Foundation Models.
Technical Approach
Sim2Real: a 99% simulation data + 1% real-robot data strategy achieving 'from 0 to 10,000' generalization. AstraBrain is the world's first end-to-end model connecting the brain, the cerebellum and neural control. The 'Galaxy Foundry' data system generates a 10-billion-scale dataset via high-precision physical simulation, with training efficiency claimed to be a thousand times higher than Tesla's. Core models include GraspVLA (95% transparent-object grasp success), GroceryVLA and NavFoM.
Commercialization(4)
- The world's first to put humanoid robots to real autonomous work in factories; deep cooperation with CATL, Bosch, Toyota, Hyundai, BAIC, SAIC, Zeekr, Great Wall and others, with thousands of cumulative orders; the Galbot S1 works 7x24 fully autonomously at CATL's plant with material-handling efficiency over 30% above manual labor
- 'Galaxy Space Capsule' convenience stores live in 40+ cities at 170+ locations (official figures, Aug 2026); instant retail and smart pharmacies cover 24 cities and have run for over a year; cooperating with Xuanwu Hospital, West China Hospital and other top hospitals on medical care scenarios
- Cumulative shipments exceeded 1,200 units in 2025; at end-2025 signed with Baida Precision to deploy over 1,000 embodied robots (per Shanghai Securities News)
- Received China's first drug business license for a humanoid robot (Haidian, Beijing); named among the 'five embodied AI robot companies of the 2026 mass-production year'
Position & Strengths(3)
- Top tier in China by embodied AI funding; in August 2026 led the establishment of the 'Beijing Key Laboratory of Embodied Intelligence Foundation Models' (with Peking University and CATL — China's first and only provincial-ministerial embodied foundation model key laboratory, unveiled with 14 Chinese and foreign academicians present)
- Differentiation: exclusive scenario closed loops (investors are customers: CATL, Meituan, BAIC, etc.); the AstraBrain end-to-end architecture is a global first; a 10-billion-scale simulation data flywheel; real-time AI validated on the public stage of the Spring Festival Gala (the Shen Teng and Ma Li sketch, January 2026)
- Cooperation ecosystem: formed a JV with Boyuan Capital under Bosch, focused on high-precision manufacturing scenarios such as complex assembly
