Xynova was founded at the end of 2024 by Xia Yuxuan (Columbia University master's degree; ex-CDH Investments, Morgan Stanley, and Warburg Pincus), headquartered in Shenzhen (other reports say Hangzhou, to be confirmed), focusing on core components and complete units for dexterous hands. Its Flex 1 five-finger hand has 25 DoF, 17 tendons, and an integrated arm-hand design; in May 2026 it released Flex 2, the world's first five-finger hand with hybrid tendon-drive plus direct-drive actuation, debuting domestically at WAIC 2026. The company fully self-develops 8mm coreless motors, 7mm planetary lead screws, micro electric cylinders (power density 5.2N/g), and tendon transmission systems, achieving autonomous control of core components. Commercially it targets humanoid robots at automakers, warehousing logistics, and local life services, deeply tied to Meituan, JD.com, Li Auto, CATL, and other industry players; it has completed four rounds totaling about RMB 1.5B, and after a RMB 500M Series A+ in July 2026 (led by Meituan) its post-money valuation exceeded $1B, making it a unicorn and one of China's dexterous hand companies with the most complete industrial capital coverage.

Technical Approach

Full-chain in-house development of coreless motors, planetary lead screws, micro electric cylinders, and tendon transmission systems for autonomous control of dexterous hand core components. Flex 2 uses hybrid tendon-drive plus direct-drive actuation, balancing the lightweight compliance of tendon drive with the high precision and high payload of direct drive; the integrated arm-hand design reduces end-effector inertia and improves manipulation accuracy.
